My father is 89 years old. A retired biochemist, bacteriologist, and family physician, he dedicated his life to science, wisdom, and service. He has always been a man of discipline, integrity, and serene strength. Stoic, brilliant, and deeply loving, he has been my greatest mentor and a steady presence in the lives of many.

In recent months, his health has declined rapidly. He has been diagnosed with advanced vascular dementia and suffered a stroke on December 29, leading to further neurological deterioration. He has lost mobility and much of his independence, and at times he is disoriented and unable to recognize loved ones. The progression has been sudden and heartbreaking. He now requires urgent medical monitoring, anticoagulation treatment to prevent further strokes, medications, and ongoing care. Our focus is to protect his comfort, prevent unnecessary suffering, and ensure he receives proper medical attention during this critical time.

The financial burden of securing adequate medical care has become overwhelming for our family. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where I operate a small wellness business that has recently suffered significant income loss due to decreased community activity. At the same time that his health declined, my ability to support him financially was deeply affected.
