The Gaza Strip is the world's largest open-air prison. It's home to two million Palestinians who can't leave. Seventy percent are refugees. Over fifty percent are kids. In 2012, the United Nations said that it would be unlivable by 2020. It's 2021, and in the midst of a global pandemic, Israel is carpet bombing civilian neighborhoods throughout the besieged Gaza Strip with the full backing of the United States. Residential towers are being flattened. Entire families are being killed. Gaza is under attack. I am organizing this fundraiser with my friend in Gaza, who has requested to remain anonymous. We are raising money to cover emergency medical care costs for children who have been injured by Israeli airstrikes. Once we reach our goal, I will be sending him the funds via PayPal, which he will distribute to a number of community organizations in Gaza that he is associated with.
