Urgent Medical Assistance for Dumo Masuku

Hi, my name is Kwanele Ndlovu . My family and I are doing a fundraiser to help my nephew Dumoluhle "Dumo" Masuku receive much-needed medical attention for a debilitating abdominal ailment he's been battling for a couple of years now. Here is a note from his little brother Andile unpacking the state of things:

Hello Everyone,

Dumo lives in our home town of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, with my retired parents, Leonard and Elsie. He is suffering from acute, chronic colorectal disease and has so far undergone two surgeries to deal with it over the last two years. Unfortunately, his condition has continued to worsen and now urgently requires several further surgeries.

Contending with this illness has been a crucible both for Dumo and those close to him. He has been out of formal employment for over two years, and his medical expenses have not been covered by medical aid since he last had a full-time job. Now, our family has reached the limits of our resources, and the pressures posed by hyperinflation in Zimbabwe have done a lot to erode reserves.

Unfortunately, a recent promise to cover his surgical treatment via a government medical research grant in Zimbabwe has fallen through, and his situation is now desperate. The only option left is seeking private healthcare and raising the AUD13,700 needed to fund Dumo's upcoming surgeries and subsequent recovery regime through a GoFundMe campaign.

My family and I are appealing to you to assist us in getting Dumo the medical attention he needs. The adage 'many hands make light work' will certainly hold if many of us pull together on this. So, please contribute what you can—no amount is too little. We also ask that you help by spreading the word about this fundraising effort on social media so that Dumo can receive treatment as soon as possible.
