I'm creating this fundraiser to help with my sister’s medical expenses. She originally entered the United States on Nov 7th, 2024, with a departure date of Dec 19th, 2024. By Nov 9th, she was admitted to the hospital for 45 days and diagnosed with a blood and bone infection. By the very next week, she had her right leg amputated. After the amputation, she was working on getting her independence back so she could return to her country of origin on March 8th. During that time, she was back and forth in the hospital because of constant fluid buildup due to her kidneys failing. She was then placed on dialysis, which is an out-of-pocket cost for her to join a dialysis center since she doesn’t have insurance and is traveling on a visa.
During the month of February, she was admitted to the hospital once again. This time it was more serious; she had to undergo open-heart surgery, so she missed her return flight back home, and she will be discharged from the hospital on March 29th, 2025. Upon discharge, she will be released with oxygen, which is another out-of-pocket cost monthly. Since she is traveling on a visa and you can only enter the US for 6 months at a time, we are filing a form I-539 which is costly on its own to request an extension until she gets better and is cleared to fly. after her discharge from having the amputation, she has been admitted to the hospital at least 7 times and is now on dialysis. If you can see it in your heart to donate, we will greatly appreciate it and be forever thankful, no amount is too small it will all add up. These funds are strictly for medical care, dialysis visits which will be $3000 a week on average for 3 visits, oxygen $250 a month, medications, and a home health aide $30 per hour for a few hours a week, so I can go to work and not have to worry about her being alone at home. (I also have medical records and proof of dates and times of all these traumatic events).
