Dear Family and Friends,

We have started this Go Fund Me page because we humbly seek your help to raise urgently needed funds in order to continue legal representation for my younger sister, Shayana who has been desperately fighting for the return of her beloved children to her loving care.

As some of you may be aware, in August 2024, our two young nephews - Dashi and Xavi - were removed from our family, and into the care of Children, Youth and Family Services (CYF). Shayana, has attended numerous hearings during this time to fight for her children, with the final 8-day trial taking place on 2 - 11 March 2026.

CYF have already advised that the decision that they are pursuing through the court, is to place the children in the care of their father.

This is extremely concerning because both children have alleged that their father has repeatedly sexually abused them. And so, to have the children placed into the care of their father means that this alleged abuse will most certainly continue. The alleged abuse that the children have already suffered has had a profound impact on their young lives, further compounded by the trauma of having been forcibly removed from their mother's care, and will undoubtedly continue to have detrimental effects on them going forward. They have repeatedly expressed fear of their father to CYF without heed; their safety is paramount.

We cannot allow this decision to be made and must protect Dashi and Incy at all cost. The only way to fight this decision is to have the right type of legal representation.

Much has already been spent on legal fees by our family and we have now run out of money to pay the final fee. Because the lawyers have not received this final payment, they are threatening to withdraw from this case (see attached correspondence). Without their legal representation the chances of helping the children are slim.

The amount we need to raise is $42,000, and we have until this coming Monday, 16th February, to submit this payment to the lawyers. We have exhausted all our options (legal aid, loans, etc.) for raising this final amount. This Go Fund Me campaign is now our last hope.

We know that this is a big ask and we wouldn't ask if there were any other options. If you could please help us raise the money for the final payment we would be forever indebted and grateful.
