Emergency Legal Help Needed to Protect a Survivor and Her Children from Abduction

My best friend and her children are in immediate danger, and they need your help now.

For nearly six years, she was trapped overseas by her abusive husband. She endured relentless emotional, financial, mental, and sexual abuse. She was denied freedom, medical care, basic human rights—and so were her children.

They were cut off from education, medical and dental care, and any semblance of a normal life. It was only with the help of the U.S. Embassy that she was able to escape and bring her children back to the U.S., where they finally began to heal.

But their safety is now at risk again.

Her abuser is threatening to take the children to Egypt—a country that is not part of the Hague Convention, meaning that if he takes them, they could be lost to her forever. He has already secretly obtained dual citizenship for the children with the sole purpose of abducting them and returning them to Egypt against their will.

She is in the middle of a divorce and custody battle, trying to protect her children and secure a safe future. But she is starting over with nothing, and the legal costs to fight for their safety are overwhelming.

Funds will go directly toward:

• Emergency legal fees to secure custody and court protections

• Travel restrictions and court orders to prevent international abduction

• Emergency housing and basic needs for her and her children

• Safety and security planning to keep them out of danger

This is not just a custody case. This is about preventing an abduction.

This is about protecting two small innocent children from being ripped away from their mother and returned to an abusive, dangerous situation.
