Urgent Legal Aid Seeking Justice for Douglas Thrasher

I am speaking on behalf of a friend desperate to find a lawyer for a death of his family member that happened while in custody of Saunders County Police.

DOUGLAS A. THRASHER was picked up by police over a warrant that was put on him for a traffic violation to serve 4 days in jail. Allegedly he was taken into custody and put into an isolated cell. Three days into his four day sentence, he was found unconscious & unresponsive in his cell. After almost an hour he was revived and then sedated to be life-flighted to a nearby hospital. He was admitted to ICU and no family was contacted until 3 days later. Doug died shortly after. Medical personnel commented on his thorax being so badly damaged, but yet there were little to no marks on the body. There had been a previous incident where Douglas was taken into custody 2 years prior. After the incident occurred, he issued a complaint in custody, and the Saunders County police ripped it up in front of him..

These are only a few of the numerous inconsistencies surrounding his death. A month has passed with no death certificate, no cause of death, and any information being sought after has led to a dead end. After retaining three separate lawyers and having each one bow out of the case, Garrett now needs more funding to go outside the county to obtain legal help
