Urgent Legal Aid for a Queer Black Friend

Hey everyone! It’s been a few weeks since this GFM was started and I wanted to send an update. Thanks to all of you we were able to cover almost half of the legal fees to help my friend which is just wonderful ❤️

Because of all of you who chose to donate, their legal fees are now paid (they were able to come up with the rest of the funds solo but really needed help, so they’re super grateful! They paid their legal fees yesterday and they now have a lawyer working on their case. Thank you again to everyone who donated! I put a final $75 towards it yesterday and was able to send $425 over to them!

Since the goal is reached, I will be closing the GFM, but thank you to everyone who donated! We get free together ❤️

Hi everyone! My name is Pilisa Mackey and I’m here raising money for a long time friend who is currently going through a serious legal battle and needs legal help navigating the (injustice) system.

For the sake of protecting their privacy I will not be disclosing who they are but I can tell you they are Black, they’re Queer and more importantly they need OUR HELP.

The good news is thanks to everyone’s generosity yesterday in donating to this mutual aid initiative, we were able to cover the $100 consult fee but now we have to come up with $1000 within the next seven days. If any of you can donate and help offset costs I know they’d really appreciate it They are employed but like many of us, aren’t being paid livable wage (much less a wage that leaves them an extra thousand to give out) so if there’s anything you can do to help it would be so appreciated.
