I am reaching out for support to help cover the costs of hospital bills. The total cost of this is $12000 (12K). Due to not having insurance or a well-paying job that can finance the exuberant cost of the hospital bills, I'm seeing if I can find support in the community.

I’m trying to pursue all avenues to get assistance but as a recent university graduate and immigrant, the opportunities can be few and far between.

The accident was in February of 2021 and was caused by seizures due to a severe reaction to antidepressants I was taking. I woke up in the ICU after being in a coma for two days with a breathing tube down my throat. The seizures were so severe that I banged my face repeatedly causing 5 missing front teeth and a broken upper jaw. The paramedics found me covered in my own blood because of all the ruptured blood vessels in my mouth.

I spent two weeks in the hospital with infections in my gums and what was left of my upper jaw. Due to medical negligence, my attempts to get the infection looked at were ignored by staff at the hospital. After leaving the hospital I was able to get the infected sections removed and was able to cover the cost of a partial denture with help from the community.

However, due to further negligence on the part of the hospital and my insurance company, the cost of the hospitalization was not covered despite saying that they would and it was not brought to my attention until after my insurance had expired.

As you can imagine, this whole ordeal has been incredibly overwhelming and traumatizing. I’m trying to find ways to just keep coping and hold down my job as an outreach worker. With your help, I’d be able to put this behind me because as you can imagine trying to navigate recuperating and working has been hell. Anything you could give would help.
