Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted global citizens,

Jamaica my motherland has been hit by a catastrophic natural disaster, and our beautiful island needs your urgent help. A powerful, slow-moving hurricane "Hurricane Melissa" recently made landfall as a Category 5 storm, bringing with it destructive winds, massive storm surges, and torrential flooding that have ravaged communities across the island, especially in parishes like St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland, Trelawny and St. James.

The devastation is immense. Entire communities have been cut off due to damaged infrastructure, landslides, and impassable roads and some don't exist anymore. Homes have been flattened, roofs ripped off, and essential services like power and clean water severely disrupted. Thousands of families are now homeless, without food, medication, or basic necessities. The emotional and physical toll on our people is immeasurable.

Despite this immense hardship, the spirit of the Jamaican people remains unbroken. We are a resilient nation, known for our strength and our ability to come together in times of crisis. The calls for "Jamaica United" echo across the island, a testament to our collective determination to rebuild and rise again. We are strong, and we will get through this, but we cannot do it alone. Our island motto is "Out of many one PEOPLE" and we are embracing that more than ever at this time.

This relief effort is not a one-time fix; it is a continued, long-term commitment to recovery because of how drastically this storm has affected every facet of life. The funds raised will go directly toward:

Providing immediate aid: Supplying clean water, non-perishable food, hygiene kits, and emergency medical supplies to those in shelters and isolated areas.

Shelter and housing: Helping families repair their damaged homes or find temporary safe housing.
