Dear friends and family,

I’m reaching out to ask for your support for my cousin Jaime, who is facing an incredibly challenging time. Jaime has been a full-time caregiver for both her aging parents and her children over the past several years. Recently, her mother, Judy Allen, experienced a sudden and rapid decline in health, and her passing is now imminent as she's at home on hospice. As you can imagine, this has been devastating for Jaime and the entire family. While Jaime is the last person in the world to ask for help, I am hoping if you're reading this her story will inspire you to do so.

In 2022, Jaime and her family purchased a new home with Judy so they could all live together. They even remodeled her mother's bathroom to make it ADA-compliant, believing she had another 10 to 15 years to live. This was a heartfelt investment to make Judy’s life as comfortable as possible, and to ensure she could spend her final years surrounded by family. Sadly, her time with us is being cut short MUCH sooner than expected.

Now, the family is left with debts from the home improvements, a mortgage they cannot afford without Judy’s pension and Social Security, as well as the added burden of funeral and end-of-life expenses, for which there were no savings.

Adding to this challenge, Jaime’s husband, Steven, has been out of work due to a work-related injury. He is working hard to open a new business, but it will take time before they see any income from this. Jaime herself has a heart condition, Long QT Syndrome, in addition to several other major health issues that prevent her from contributing financially at this time.

I am asking for your help to cover these immediate costs, relieve the financial strain that has been left behind and offset the unfortunate timing of all of this while Steven works to get his business off the ground. Your generosity will not only help with Judy's final arrangements but also lift the burden of the their shared expenses that Jaime and Steven must now shoulder without her. Any contribution, no matter the size, would make an enormous difference to their family during this incredibly challenging time.
