Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read this short story about a true 'Force of Nature', our wonderful father John Mitchell, or MITCH as everyone knows him

Mitch has always been a larger than life character, there to help others, whether friends or strangers, people who are finding it hard to connect to their 'spirituality'. If people had painful mental and emotional issues, he helped them remove the pain and if they have physical pain, he helped with physical therapy. If people were suffering, he helped. Even when an operation, resulted in a crippled hand, he gave physical therapy with one arm. If people were in 'pain' Mitch helped.

We have recently been told that our wonderful Dad, John Mitchell (Mitch), is about to have a lifesaving operation for Bowel Cancer, at the 'Champalimaud Cancer Institute' in Lisbon Portugal. Obviously, this has devastated us as a family, and we have gone into full action mode, to do everything we can (from the different countries we live in) to ensure he gets the treatment he needs! This is not an easy task living in different countries (Canada, London, Portugal) hence creating this fundraising page as a joint first step.

Five years ago our Dad began his battle with the crippling and agonising, pain of damaged hips and also a collapsed back (stenosis). All continuing to require operations. One year ago, he was also diagnosed with severe degeneration of the neck bones (scoliosis), which caused severe vertigo. Dad has always been our hero, and it’s been hard to watch these illnesses shrink his world. So now, we are going to do everything we can in terms of fundraising to help put his 'superman' cape back on and continue his good works.

Our Goal is to raise the money needed so he can get the operations he needs.

Alongside the ongoing love and support from our friends and family, this is our first step in helping our Dad live a happy and hopefully pain free life. We know times are hard for most people right now, but any support, no matter how small will make a huge difference.
