URGENT HELP US SAVE LEANNY

3/29 Update: It is with great sorrow that we share the news of Leanny’s passing. Since our last update, Leanny took a turn for the worse and tests stopped showing signs of brain function. She passed naturally and peacefully yesterday evening surrounded by family.

We are devastated from this loss, but have found solace from the outpouring of support you have provided through such a horrific week and a half for our family. Your prayers, words of support, and show of love through this incredible fundraising effort have been what has kept us going. Know that these funds got Leanny to the medical care she needed and with family. The remainder will now help contribute to the costs that have mounted for Leanny’s critical care in DR and funeral expenses, which we expect to reach up to our posted goal. We appreciate any donations to help us get through this next difficult step of saying goodbye to Leanny with a proper memorial that she so deserves. Leanny was a constant source of laughter for our family and her friends. We will always remember her for her fighting spirit, which pushed her trough until the end. She will forever live in our memories.
Leanny will be buried today in Villa Tapia, DR. As soon as arrangements for a memorial have been made in NY we will share details.

Update 3/24/2023: Leanny continues to be treated in the ICU in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She is now stable enough to be transported to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where her case has been accepted. Your donations have allowed us to cover air transfer from St Marteen to the Dominican Republic, see receipt below, and some medical care in Santiago. We now ask that you continue sharing and donating to cover the flight home so that she can receive necessary surgeries and long-term care. Due to her critical condition, we need to reserve another air ambulance equipped to safely get her home. Again THANK YOU! your donations have allowed us to save her life and we will continue to keep you updated.

3/20/2023: Thank you to everyone that has donated and spread awareness - we were able to get Leanny to the DR last night and she made it through surgery. We now need to work on transporting her to NY and providing her with long-term care and need to continue to raise funds in order to do so. We ask that you please keep sharing and donating to get her home!

For those who are seeing this for the first time: On Friday March 17th at approximately 6:05pm, Leanny suffered a life-threatening accident with severe head and spinal injuries and needed to be evacuated to the nearest reputable hospital. With your donations, we were able to afford a medical transport plane. This will be a very long road to recovery, but with God everything is possible. We have maintained our faith and we ask that you keep Leanny in your prayers. Thank you once again to everyone that has and is donating and spreading awareness for Leanny. #SaveLeanny #SaveLeanny #SaveLeanny #SaveLeanny #SaveLeanny

Leanny's mother, Ana, will receive the donations on her behalf. These donations are being used to cover air transfer from Sint Maarten to the Dominican Republic, medical care in the Dominican Republic and air transfer back to NY where doctors at NY Presbyterian have accepted the case and are ready to receive her once she is stable to travel and provide long-term care.
