I never thought I’d be here — writing this and asking for help to keep a roof over our heads.

My name is Sydnie. I’m a mom of three amazing kids and I’m also in the process of adopting my younger brother so he can have the stable, loving home he deserves. We’ve lived in the same house for nearly a decade. It’s where my kids took their first steps, where we’ve had countless family dinners, and where my brother finally felt safe after so much uncertainty.

Now, that safety is being ripped away — not because of anything we’ve done wrong, but because of harassment and fear tactics from our landlord. After I stood up for my family’s right to have necessary repairs done, the pressure began — threats, intimidation, and now the sudden move to sell the home while we’re still here. I am in a legal battle to fight for our rights, but every step forward comes with another round of stress and uncertainty.

If I lose, we face homelessness — and I could lose my brother to the foster care system. The thought of that breaks me.

As if that wasn’t enough, I have major surgery scheduled next month. I’m trying to prepare for recovery while fighting to protect my family, but the legal fees, court costs, and emergency housing expenses are overwhelming.

I am doing everything I can — filing the paperwork, showing up in court, and working full-time to keep food on the table — but I can’t do it alone. I need help to:
