Hello Everyone!

My coworker Brad's son Ryan who he is the primary caretaker for, could use your help! Ryan is special needs and has been suffering in the hospital since January 8th 2025, with his digestive system failing him. What they had at first thought was just a case of acid reflux has turned out to be much more of an issue than they thought. After his first couple of endoscopies, they believed Ryan to be suffering from a case of severe gastritis. After this initial diagnosis, they tried multiple ways of feeding Ryan, but his body has not responded well to any food he has eaten and it eventually comes back up, even down to a lollipop. Ryan has not eaten anything since that day and has had to be put on an emergency GJ feed tube to receive nutrients. His esophagus has not been able to heal either due to constant vomiting and is most likely very painful due to the open sores around his throat. Ryan has Autism and has been with Kaiser, but the multiple doctors and specialists visiting him have not been able to help him. He cannot permanently be on a feeding tube for his intake before his internal organs begin to shut down. Ryan needs to be seen by doctors that can help in his situation and have the ability to go out of network if needed and IDEALLY get into a home nursing program.

His father Brad works 2 full-time jobs, during the day as a Manager of our wash in RSM and overnight graveyard shifts for Thistle to get by. Jen, his girlfriend, also helps take care of Ryan but is a full-time Assistant Principal at a high school, so they are both strapped to make it to work while also taking care of Ryan. They frequently have to hire caretakers while they are away.
