Our friend Daniel Romanov was taken into ICE custody on January 29, 2026 and is currently being detained at the Golden State Annex detention center in California. He now faces removal from the United States due to a series of immigration complications spanning more than a decade, many of which stem from administrative errors, missed notices, and failures within the immigration system and prior legal representation.

Daniel has been legally married to his partner since 2019. He was detained immediately following his second green card interview, despite actively following the legal process to regularize his status. He has now been held in detention for over a week, separated from his spouse, family, and community.

There are legal remedies available to fight this, but time is critical. Securing experienced and effective immigration counsel is urgent, and the cost is substantial.

We are asking for the support of our community to help raise funds for Daniel’s legal defense so he can receive the representation he deserves and prevent an unjust removal. Any contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference.
