My name is Malek, and I am fundraising with my brother Munjed on behalf of Waleed Al-Maqousi.
The catastrophe in Gaza has reached unprecedented levels, leaving behind a trail of unimaginable suffering and despair. Amidst this chaos, Waleed, a young 21 year-old soul burdened by the weight of tragedy, seeks our help to save his father.
Waleed has already endured the unbearable loss of his mother and two siblings to the relentless horrors of war. The pictures below are to one of his younger brothers. Now his father’s life hangs in the balance, as he urgently requires medical treatment that can only be accessed across the border in Egypt.
Despite the darkness that surrounds him, Waleed is a source of inspiration and hope. He dreams of completing his education next year, believing steadfastly that one day, very soon, the light of peace will dawn upon his shattered homeland. In the meantime, he's been helping his community in Gaza and the people around him in any way he can.
Today, let us stand in solidarity with Waleed and his father. My brother Munjed is in direct contact with Waleed in Gaza. My brother will send the raised funds through a wire-transfer Gaza. Let us be the beacon of hope amidst the shadow of despair. Together we can make a difference.
Each contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to rekindling the flame of humanity during the ongoing crisis for more than 6 months.
In the midst of this chaos, the escalating violence and instability have made it increasingly difficult for Waleed's father to access the necessary medical care. Obtaining permits to cross the borders for his vital treatment comes at a significant cost of $11,000 per permit, and with Waleed to support him, the expenses for permits alone becomes $22,000. We are also accounting for $3,000 for other related expenses such as transportation to Egypt.
Your support matters. Your generosity in humanity has the power to save a life and restore faith in the goodness of humanity. Please feel free to reach out for more information.
Let us not turn a blind eye to Waleed’s plea. Let us act decisively, for every effort counts in the fight for life amidst the ruins of war.
Thank you for your compassion and solidarity. Together, we can make a difference.
