Hi, my name is Cam. I’m currently homeless and living in my car. Life has been incredibly hard, and through all of it, my dog Sheila has been by my side. She’s not just a pet — she’s my family, my companion, and honestly, my reason to keep going. She gives me love, protection, and a sense of home I wouldn't have otherwise.
Sheila is a Lab x Staffy with a huge heart. She’s smart, loyal, and full of personality. We’ve faced everything together — rain, cold nights, hunger, loneliness — and no matter how hard things got, Sheila was always there, wagging her tail, reminding me that we had each other.
But now, she needs me more than ever… and I’m heartbroken because I can’t help her on my own.
A few nights ago, while we were sleeping in the car, Sheila suddenly jumped out of the window and landed badly. She yelped in pain, and I knew something was seriously wrong. I rushed her to an emergency vet, and after an examination, they told me she had suffered a serious back injury. The vet said that Sheila urgently needs surgery to survive. Without it, she’ll be in constant pain, and the only alternative they offered was euthanasia.
The cost of surgery and post-op care is far beyond what I can afford. I’m on a disability pension, and I’ve already used everything I had just to get her seen by the vet and cover initial tests. I’ve hit a wall, and it’s terrifying.
I'm not asking for anything for myself — just a chance to give Sheila the life she deserves. If you can help, even with just a few dollars, it will go directly to covering her surgery and recovery care. Every little bit adds up, and your kindness could be what saves her life.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this. Getting the word out could help us find the support Sheila needs.
From the bottom of my heart,
Thank you for reading, caring, and helping us through this.
With love,
Cam & Sheila
