Our father, Massimo, has been battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and now urgently needs access to specialized treatment outside of Canada.
To our friends, family, and community,
We are writing this through tears, but also with a glimmer of hope we have not felt in a long time. Our dad, Massimo, is our hero. He is the man who taught us how to be strong, how to love deeply, and how to never give up. Now, he is in the fight of his life, and for the first time, he cannot do it alone.
Meet Our Dad
Our dad is the kind of person who shows up, always, no matter what. He never missed a moment when we needed him. Ballet classes, soccer games, hockey games, practices, late-night drives, and even the team fundraisers that came with them. He was often the one stepping up to help organize, volunteer, and make things happen for everyone, even when he was dealing with more than he ever let on.
He is the friend everyone leans on and the person who gives his whole heart without hesitation. To us, he is our father. To others, he is a best friend, a steady presence, and someone who would do anything for the people he loves.
His Medical Situation
Our dad’s world changed in 2015. Just after the devastating loss of his own mother to cancer, he received a diagnosis that no one is ever prepared for: Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
For the past ten years, he has been a warrior. He has endured countless rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, fighting his way into remission again and again. He pushed through exhaustion and fear just to be the father we need and the grandfather his grandchild deserves.
In late 2024, the news we feared most arrived. The cancer returned for a third time.
Why Financial Help Is Needed
At 52, our dad is physically, emotionally, and financially exhausted, but his spirit is not broken. Unfortunately, his most recent treatment cycles have not been successful, and the options currently available to him in Canada are no longer providing effective results.
Our immediate goal is to secure access to advanced treatment options outside of Canada that could save his life.
We are now in a race against time.
• The Mayo Clinic: We are currently in the final stages of the intake process at the Mayo Clinic in the United States. This is our primary hope for advanced care that is not available to him here.
• International Search: Because every day counts, we are also urgently pursuing other recognized treatment options in other countries to ensure that no possibility is left unexplored.
How Funds Will Be Used
Asking for help is the hardest thing we have ever had to do. The reality is that the costs associated with out-of-country medical care, including specialized testing, treatment, travel, accommodations, and day-to-day necessities during this time, are overwhelming and far beyond what our family can manage on our own.
Our Heartfelt Ask
If you are able to help in any way, we are deeply grateful.
• Donate: No amount is too small. Every dollar brings our dad closer to life-saving treatment.
• Share: This is incredibly important. Please share this page on Facebook, Instagram, or X. One share could reach the person who helps save our dad’s life.
• Pray: Please keep our dad and our family in your thoughts and prayers.
Our dad is surrounded by love, but now he needs the support of a wider community. Your kindness gives us the chance to pursue every possible treatment option and to keep our father Massimo’s light shining.
Thank You
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, supporting, and standing with us during the hardest chapter of our lives.
Massimo has spent his life showing up for others. We are hoping, with your help, that we can show up for him now.
With love and gratitude,
