Niko is 2 months old and was found abandoned and severely emaciated. From the moment I rescued him, his tiny body has been fighting to recover from starvation and neglect. Despite everything, Niko is gentle, sweet, and trying so hard to stay alive.

What Happened

On November 24, 2025, I rushed Niko to the VEG ER due to extreme weakness, dehydration, and severe malnutrition.

He responded well at first, and after a follow-up visit on November 25, I believed he was finally turning a corner.

But on Thanksgiving Day (Nov 27), Niko suddenly suffered a dangerous hypoglycemic episode — a life-threatening complication for puppies who are severely underweight. I had to rush him back to VEG ER at 1 PM.

Because of the costs, the wonderful team at VEG Emergency was willing to work with me and allowed Niko to go home with IV fluids,

Entyce (appetite stimulant) and Cerenia (anti-nausea medication).

Current Situation (Nov 28, 2025)

Today, Niko is again:

Not eating or drinking on his own

Extremely lethargic

Sleeping excessively

Too weak to sustain himself without help.

Niko needs a hospital stay asap as recommended by VEG ER Dr Peckham. I am doing what I can by syringe-feeding him at home in the meantime.

Why I Need Help

Niko’s medical bills from the last three ER visits are already nearly $3,000.

A recommended hospital stay — which he urgently needs to stabilize his blood sugar, electrolytes, nutrition, and hydration — The initial estimate for hospitalization is around $2,700–$3,500, but depending on how long Niko needs IV support and monitoring, the cost could be higher. My goal reflects what might be needed for ongoing care.

I simply do not have the funds to continue his life-saving care on my own.

Niko needs:

Specialized refeeding support

Ongoing blood sugar and electrolyte checks

Medications and nutritional therapy
