Help My Mom Save Her Home After Financial Fraud

My 65-year-old mom has until March 15 to raise $60,000 or she risks losing her home to foreclosure.

We are in an urgent race against time.

The person who encouraged and helped her refinance her home, someone she trusted to guide her through the process, is the same person who mishandled the funds that were supposed to be applied directly to her mortgage and the fixing of her house.

We have since uncovered what we believe to be fraudulent misuse of those funds. She acted in good faith. She trusted the guidance she was given. Now she is facing the consequences of someone else’s dishonesty.

This home is not just a house.

It is her safety.

It is her retirement security.

It is our family’s foundation.

My mom is 65 years old and has worked her entire life to build stability and security. She is a devoted member of her church and a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) who cares deeply for her patients. Families request her by name because of her kindness and the extra care she gives, she does things others don’t.

She has always shown up for people with compassion and heart.

She loves to bake for church gatherings, neighbors, coworkers and anyone who could use something sweet to brighten their day. Caring for people is simply who she is.

For decades, she has been a familiar and caring presence in our neighborhood.

Instead of enjoying peace at this stage of her life, she is now fighting to keep the roof over her head.

We are currently working with an attorney to:

• Bring the loan current

• Remove the individual involved

• Secure a new lender

• Protect her moving forward

There is a path forward, but time is extremely limited.

We urgently need to raise $60,000 to:

• Stop foreclosure

• Stabilize the mortgage

• Cover necessary legal costs
