Our rescue didn’t begin as an organization. It began with two people — my husband and me — feeding stray and feral cats behind our home in Kerman, CA.
We started doing TNR (trap-neuter-return), but not soon enough. Kittens started showing up with their mothers. Sick. Cold. Hungry. Some barely hanging on.
One mama cat even brought us her kittens — as if she knew we’d help them.
Soon, neighbors and community members were asking us to help with sick kittens, orphaned kittens, injured strays, and abandoned litters. I was suddenly tube-feeding critical babies, bottle-feeding newborns, and caring for other at-risk kittens/cats.
We finance most of this ourselves — food, formula, vet bills, medicine, litter, heating pads, supplies. Currently, we are caring for 50 rescue cats and kittens.
We created Young Paws Cat Rescue & Sanctuary as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit because we knew the only way to keep saving lives was to expand our efforts, build community support, and open the door to donations.
But donations have been slow — and we are drowning in supply and vet costs.
OUR URGENT NEED RIGHT NOW:
We currently have 21 rescue kittens who must be:
- spayed/neutered
- vaccinated
- dewormed
- treated for fleas
- given basic exams
Only then can they stay healthy, break the cycle of overpopulation, and move toward adoption.
This is not optional care — this is life-saving care.
We need to raise approx. $2,500 to get all 21 kittens fully treated.
WHAT YOUR DONATION MAKES POSSIBLE:
Most people don’t realize how expensive kitten rescue is. Here is exactly what your gift covers:
$10 → one day of formula or wet food
$15 → deworming for one kitten
$25 → FVRCP vaccines for one kitten
$35 → flea treatment + exam
$50 → spay/neuter assistance
$75–$100 → full medical package for one kitten
Every dollar goes directly to their care.
WHY YOUR HELP MATTERS:
If these kittens don’t receive their medical care:
they cannot be safely adopted
they remain at high risk for illness and parasites
they contribute to next season’s overpopulation
and more kittens will continue to suffer outdoors
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
✔ Donate — even $5 truly matters
✔ Follow us on Facebook
✔ Sponsor one of our kittens
✔ Spread the word to animal lovers
We are exhausted, overwhelmed, and doing everything humanly possible — but we can’t do this alone. Your support helps us keep saving lives that might otherwise be lost.
With gratitude,
Danielle Pierre & Bart Young
