Urgent: Help Our Dad Get a Life-Saving Liver Transplant

Hello everyone, my name is Malini, and I'm writing this as a daughter trying to save her father's life. I am reaching out with a heartfelt plea to support my father, Dillibabu, who has recently been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. His medical team has informed us that an immediate liver transplant is essential to save his life.

Our world turned upside down when my father came to visit us in Canada from India on a short trip. During his stay, he was suddenly hospitalized and diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. The emergency care he received saved his life, but left us with a medical bill of over $30,000, which we are still trying to manage.

After stabilizing his condition, we booked his return to India for further treatment, hoping for recovery. Unfortunately, our worst fears came true. He was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, a form of liver cancer. Doctors have now confirmed that his only chance of survival is a liver transplant, estimated to cost $40,000, a sum far beyond what we can manage alone.

I am currently the primary financial support for my parents, as they have no pension or retirement income. As his daughter, I'm doing everything I can - but with a second child on the way and supporting my younger sibling with their education, the financial strain has been, and is overwhelming.

While we are fortunate to have some medical coverage, the costs associated with the transplant procedure, post-operative care, medications, and related expenses are overwhelming. This estimated out-of-pocket expense is beyond our family’s financial capacity and despite our best efforts, this is more than we can bear alone.
