Hi everyone,
My name is Micaela, and I’m reaching out because I’ve hit a really hard spot. In September, I unexpectedly lost my job. Since then, I’ve been applying to jobs daily, signing up for paid health studies, and exploring every option I can find. Unfortunately, because I only worked at my last job for five months, I wasn’t eligible for unemployment benefits, and some gig work options like Uber or DoorDash are restricted by my insurance policy. I also tried plasma donation, but was turned away due to low iron levels.
I’ve managed to hold things together as best I can, but I’ve fallen behind on bills and need urgent help to keep a roof over my head and cover essential expenses for myself and my two cats.
Here’s what I need to cover:
• Rent: $930
• Energy bill: $178 (I’m a month behind)
• Internet bill: $203 (also behind a month)
• Car payment: $177 (due by 10/28 to avoid cancellation)
• Groceries for myself: $150
• Cat food and litter: $60
This comes to a total of about $1,700, which would allow me to get caught up on everything essential and have a little breathing room to keep applying for work.
I have had to ask for help in the past, and I’m deeply ashamed to be in this position again — but I’m doing so because I’ve run out of options. Even the smallest donation truly makes a difference, and if you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and for taking the time to read this.
— Micaela
