We're a queer couple in desperate need of help keeping our home.
Stevie is in the process of applying for disability and is unable to work much, so for a while, Alex's old job was our primary source of income. It worked out, since it was a decent paying job, and it paid the bills. However, after being laid off in May, things have taken a turn.
Alex cashed out their 401k to buy us more time, but that only covered 2 months of our mortgage. Since then, we've opened a business in an attempt to make some income. While the business is doing well so far, it's not yet doing well enough to be our main source of income.
We're now 3 months behind on our mortgage, coming up on 4, and facing foreclosure/repossession of our trailer home. Our mortgage company is unwilling to work with us to find a solution, and has demanded we pay them over $3k ASAP, or they'll begin the foreclosure process, even though Alex has just accepted a second job on top of running our small business together.
We cannot afford to lose our home right now. If we lose our home, we face very high odds of homelessness, since affordable homes are very few and far between in this economy. We need help catching up, because once we catch up, Alex's second job will cover our mortgage going forward, but our mortgage company refuses to defer any payments or offer us a chance to catch up unless we pay the $3k due immediately. We've worked really hard to get a home of our own, please help us not lose our home.
Funds will be used to pay our back due mortgage so we can keep our home.
