Hi Everyone, I am asking for help for my friend, Duchess, who is T1 diabetic. She has already had her big toe amputated and now is in danger of losing her right foot. She lives alone in the Philly region of PA and does not receive disability.  She hasn’t been able to work because she has a bone infection that has created an open wound the size of a silver dollar on the ball of her right foot. This means she must be Sedentary.

Her wound care doctor tried treating her as an outpatient and released her with a pic line to receive daily antibiotics via IV. As a result of the pic line, she got a blood clot. As you can imagine that along with everything else sacred the bejesus out of her. They put her back in the hospital, not because of the blood clot, but because her foot is not healing due to her being on her feet. Her wound actually got larger from activities.

Yesterday, she was sent to a rehab. She will have to remain in rehab because she has no one to help her at home.

The hospital and rehab have been kind enough to let her keep her service dog with her as along as she makes arrangements to have him walked by others.    

Right now, she is Struggling. I have known Duchess for 10 years. This woman with every breath will help anyone from the homeless to stray animals. When she is well, she participates in bi-weekly animal rescue transports. She is a true warrior and never complains. But even warriors need help sometimes and right now she really needs our help.

Please help me help her  and allow her to heal without worrying that her life will go to shambles. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
