Urgent Help Needed to Reunite Terrence with Family

Hello, my name is Dorthea Cantey. My father is Terrence Cantey. He is a military veteran who loves to travel. I am his only child so yes, I’m a daddy‘s girl. My daddy decided to move back to Bangkok, Thailand. And there is where he fell ill. 

On Saturday, August 10, my dad had a stroke. This would be his third stroke. A friend of his contacted me that Monday morning. She had to use his passport photo to get into his phone. My dad was at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. My dad's condition is that he’s able to talk and walk, but he does not remember quite a few things. When having a conversation with him, he gets disoriented and he starts talking about something that makes no sense.

The hospital discharged him on Tuesday, August 20th because his hospital bill cannot get paid and they have no more beds available. My dad’s veteran benefits cannot be used in another country if he is not on active duty. I cannot get into any of his medical or financial records because I am not power of attorney. When I asked him if I could have power of attorney, he starts talking about something that makes absolutely no sense. The doctor says he is not well enough to take care of himself and unfortunately, he stays in Thailand with no family.

I have to get my dad back to America so he can get the recovery and aftercare he needs here in the US and his VA benefits can pay. We have spoken to the embassy, emailed them, and they said there’s nothing they can do financially. I have spoken to the Red Cross and they as well said there’s nothing they can do. I am all out of options. I ask for your donation to help get my father home. The tickets from Thailand are not cheap. I also have to get a bigger house. My father has no one else to take care of him. They said they will transfer him to a nursing home but only for one month. He needs more than a month to recover, but that should be enough time for him to travel alongside with someone. I’m asking for donations please to help get my father home. The money will go towards his air fare as well as the person that will travel with him back home. I also have to upgrade my house to a 4 bedroom so apart of the money will go to that as well so my daddy can be comfortable. Thank you so much.
