Urgent Help Needed to Prevent Utility Shutoffs

URGENT: Help My Family Stay Housed During Medical Crisis & Shutoffs

Hi, and thank you so much for being here.

This is incredibly difficult to write, but my family is in a serious emergency. We’re just trying to keep our home, our car, and our children safe during a period of unexpected medical crisis and financial collapse — and we truly need help.

What Happened

I lost my job of over 3 years after I became seriously ill with an 8mm kidney stone. It led to three surgeries, and I’m still recovering now with a kidney stent in place and another procedure scheduled. I was on FMLA, but just 2 days after returning, I was let go.

My wife is the main caregiver for our two autistic sons, ages 3 and almost 2 (our youngest turns 2 on July 14th). They depend on her deeply for stability during meltdowns. She recently broke her hand and is unable to work.

We’ve done everything we can to survive — I applied for short-term disability, used what little state help was available, and picked up side jobs when I was physically able — but we’re now 2–3 months behind on everything, and things are about to collapse.

⚠️ What We’re Facing

• Water is scheduled to be shut off July 18

• Power shutoff is scheduled for July 30

• Our car will be repossessed by July 18 without payment

• We have no car insurance, which was cancelled

• We’re 3 months behind on rent

• We can’t afford groceries, diapers, or gas

• I’m trying to recover so I can work again — I just need a little time and help

We’re Not Asking for Luxury — Just a Lifeline

This goal will:

• Stop utility shutoffs

• Prevent car repossession

• Catch up our rent

• Give us a little food & stability during recovery

• Let me heal, get my final kidney surgery, and return to work
