Urgent Help Needed to Prevent Robin's Homelessness

Thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Robin Lynn Bailey .I am 70 soon to be 71.My story starts here .Back around 2008.My husband and myself owned a very successful

business . We had a beautiful home. The US economy fell and we lost everything .My husband and I ended up living in our car ,and after the bank took the car we lived in our tent made of blankets in a local park. My husband was sick and was unable to work. Needless to say no one would hire me

I decided to go back to school and become a nurse .I often had to do my homework with a flashlight and I had to take a bus to school. We often didn't know where our next meal was coming from.

I graduated from LVN school and got a job immediately. We were able to get a small apartment for a while .After that we rented a mobile home ( was infested with RATS ).All the time dreaming of owning our own home some day.

After a few years I was having health issues and needed surgery .So I had to retire.

When Covid hit the California Governor asked all nurses to come back to work.

I renewed my license and was working within a few weeks.

Then I had a lovely RN asked me to join there team of Hospice Nurses .I immediately felt like I had found my place.

Soon I was able to buy a home of our own.

It will be 2 years on May 3.

One year ago we discovered a leak .My husband tried numerous times to fix it .I called our Home Owners and filled a claim .They sent an engineer out here .They soon notified us that they weren't covering it and that we only have until May 3 , 2025 to get a new roof or they are going to cancel our insurance .Then the Mortgage Company is going to foreclose

on our home .I am going to be 71 in September and I don't think I can face being homeless again .We have put everything into this home.
