This is officially plan X, Y, and Z of my current journey. In 2023, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness that makes it nearly impossible to hold down a job. Last year I began the disability process, working with a lawyer, and as of now I am still months to years without an answer. I lost my job about 5 months ago, burned through whatever savings and credit cards and family members help I had left, and in one last ditch effort traded my jeep in for a conversion van with a "brand new transmission" figured i could squeak by with ebt if i didnt move far and used bare minimun. It is now sitting in the shop with a totalled transmission, holding everything left of my life that I was able to keep. It'll take 3600 minimum to get it running again, if I scrap it and try to sell it theres no way ill get enough out of it for a new rig, and if I do, it won't be a van with a bed and storage. I have nothing left worth selling, just clothes and camping gear. My cat Lilly has to take this journey with me, and i want her to be comfortable as possible. My phone got shut off today, and the 250 ebt cash I get will barely cover my car insurance and credit card(which i think I may just have to let that one go). Ive put off begging the internet as far as I can. If i can just get the van in working order, don't move more than necessary, I can get by on next to nothing for quite a while. There's just nothing left. Next step is unfortunately giving up Lilly, taking the tent out of the van with whatever else I can carry on my back, and try to find a spot to stay out of the way. Im out of options. If you know me, youd know that I'd never do this sort of thing, but I just have nothing left. Going back to work fulltime is not an option. But if I have a roof and wheels, I can stay out of the way. This is an immediate need. If i can't pay up soon, van gets impounded, along with every last thing that I still have.
