Hello, my name is Meleane but to many of you, I am “Maryanne” (my name translated into English. Mele = Mary and Ane = Anne) and to some “Nane”, which is my Tongan name, shortened. I have been a caregiver to loved ones in your family and have been blessed to be apart of your families. I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask others for help like this, but right now I am doing everything I can to keep a roof over my head.
For the past several months, I have been paying for my rent, utilities, groceries, and basic living expenses on my own. Unfortunately, I have fallen two months behind on my rent and I am now facing the possibility of eviction. My biggest priority right now is catching up on rent so that I can stay in my home and have a stable place to live.
I am actively trying to work and find consistent opportunities, but time and time again jobs I thought I had secured have fallen through or been taken away unexpectedly. I continue to apply, reach out, and search for work because I truly want to support myself and move forward.
Right now my most urgent bills are:
• Rent: $7,170.77
• PG&E (electricity/gas): $706.86
• Phone bill: $889.90
My phone bill unfortunately became this high after repeated disconnections, which led to additional reconnection charges just to restore service.
I have tried reaching out for assistance through 211 and other local resources, but many of the numbers I was given either do not answer or have no available assistance left.
Making this page is incredibly difficult and embarrassing for me because I have always tried to handle things on my own. I am not looking for a free handout, I am simply asking for help during a very difficult moment so that I can stabilize my situation and continue working toward supporting myself again.
If you are able to donate, even a small amount truly helps and means more than I can express. If you cannot donate, I completely understand and would be deeply grateful for a prayer, encouragement, or simply sharing this page. I am praying for an opportunity to work and rebuild from this setback.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you are able to give. God bless you all, always.
