Save Yellow Water. Stop suburban expansion in Jacksonville
Donation protected
We are a group of around 40 residents in Jacksonville FL attempting to prevent a land developer from changing the land use on the property surrounding and upon which we live. Our area is an agricultural/rural section of town approximately 400 acres in size. The current land use of AG allows one home per a minimum of 2.5 acres. The current land use for the RR land allows one home per 1 acre minimum. The proposed project wants to change the land use on appx 190 acres of the 400 acres to a land use called suburban low density residential (LDR). If approved, it would allow around 950 homes to be built...something like 5-7/homes per acre...clustered in to small 40, 50, 60 foot lots. We are adamantly opposed to this. We have just lost a City Council vote, which will allow the project to move forward. We now desperately need legal help and funds to pay for that help, to stop this process from moving forward. Please help us. We are mostly simple folks who want to keep this area rural so we can enjoy the woods and the wildlife. We have almost no time to do this. We need an attorney and funds immediately. Please help us.
PS. This is on Yellow Water Road about one mile north of Normandy Blvd. Jacksonvilles' far westside.
