Hi, my name is Kari, and I’m asking for help because I’m out of options, and time is running out.

I’m a single mom doing everything I can to care for my daughter, but right now we are facing eviction with nowhere else to go. We’ve been through so much already — health issues, financial strain, and trying to survive in a situation that’s felt impossible. Now I’ve been given the opportunity to redeem our lease if compliant and come up with $5,962.69 in back rent and legal fees by August 15th, or we will lose our home, amongst other legal issues that will follow. I will be able to get back on my feet and support my family if I can make it through this difficult time.

This isn’t just about money.

It’s about keeping my daughter safe.

It’s about not ending up on the street.

It’s about getting one more chance to breathe and rebuild.

How We Got Here

Earlier this year, I got sick. Really sick. Doctors still haven’t figured out exactly what’s going on, but it’s been enough to knock me off my feet and leave me unable to work. I’ve been doing everything I can — documenting symptoms, going to the ER, applying for aid — but nothing is moving fast enough. I am fighting through not feeling well to reclaiming our financial obligations, feeling unwell or not, to support my family. But the time not working has put a damper on working towards our goals and my health.

I’ve reached out to rental assistance programs, churches, and community help. I’ve even started selling what little I have. But with the deadline just days away, I’m still short and out of time.
