My beloved 82-year-old father, who is blind, has lived in the tranquil hills of Kentucky Westmoreland, Jamaica his whole life. His home, a sanctuary filled with memories, was catastrophically damaged by Hurricane Melissa, leaving him with absolutely nothing. The storm ripped his roof completely off, and he is now living in a makeshift fallout shelter.

For Dada, leaving his home and the community he's known for decades would be a deeply traumatic experience. He, along with many of our family members in the area, faces the daunting task of completely rebuilding their homes from the ground up.
