I'm Joyce and this is the hardest thing I've had to do; ask for help.

I've lived in my home for 26 years. I recently fell on hard times and got behind on my property taxes.

I haven't worked for 3 and 1/2 years. I was working at the county and was targeted by an elected official and was fired. I was considered a friend to her political enemy.

I lived off my savings (thank God I had savings). But that is now all gone. My money would have lasted years longer but everything doubled and even tripled in price so I blew through my savings pretty quickly.

I am behind on my real estate taxes of about $14,495.79 according to court papers. I'm being taken to court and my home will go up for sheriff sale. I have agreed to make a payment arrangement where I can break up what I owe in five payments. I can make the last four payments as I got my job back at the county, which I am thankful. But I can't come up with the first installment which is court costs and the first installment and February's tax bill. It equals just about $5,000.

The problem is I have nowhere to go. I will be homeless living in my car. Such a dark time for me. I have a dog and a bird.

My dog is a pit rescue who was abused. He's not an easy re-home because he's overly protective of me. It's a situation I don't even want to think about.

As of late I have been selling my belongings and living off my credit cards. I have excellent credit and have maintained a great credit score despite my predicament. I've also cashed out all of my retirement accounts.

I was in a bad car accident totaling my car and doing major damage to my hands about a year and a half ago. It was a hit and run driver in South Lorain that ran a red light. I have severe nerve damage in both hands. I recently had surgery and have more surgeries coming.

I'm asking for any help you can offer. I'm asking that if you can help that you make your donations anonymously and then send me a message so I can properly thank you.

I know this is my responsibility. I'm humbling myself and asking for any help you can offer. At the very least please pray for me that whatever happens, it works out. I thank you for your prayers and support.
