Urgent Help Needed: Help Dad Return Home for Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
I am reaching out with an urgent plea for help. Our beloved Dad, who has always been healthy and still works full-time at the age of 74, recently suffered a severe stroke while on holiday in Egypt with our Mum. This has been such a massive shock to our family and friends!
Early last Thursday morning on his 74th birthday, we received the devastating news that Dad had suffered a massive stroke and was critically ill. Against all odds, Dad has been making progress each day. The stroke has left him with no use of his right side and he is currently unable to speak. However, with his strength and the appropriate treatment in the UK, we believe, along with his doctors in Egypt, that he can make a significant recovery.
Today, the travel insurance company declined his medical insurance claim, despite the doctor’s insistence that the claim should be approved. After a week of waiting and uncertainty, this decision has added an overwhelming financial burden on top of an already heartbreaking situation. The doctor has tried to contact them to appeal this decision, but we don't have time on our side. It’s been a week since that devastating morning already. We really need to get him home as soon as possible to manage the growing costs and to ensure he receives timely treatment for the best possible recovery.
My Mum has been on her own throughout this ordeal, traveling to the hospital every day to be by Dad’s side. She has been an absolute pillar of strength, and her unwavering support has been crucial in his recovery. However, she is dealing with not only the heartbreak of her husband’s condition but also the immense stress of handling this crisis alone in a foreign country.
Our immediate goal is to bring both Dad and Mum back to the UK. This will allow Dad to continue his treatment and ensure that Mum has the support of her family during this difficult time. The costs for an air ambulance and the necessary medical support are substantial, and we urgently need your help. Raising these funds as quickly as possible is crucial to ensure Dad gets the care he needs back home.
Here is what your generous donations will help cover:
• Air ambulance costs (from £30,500)
• Ongoing medical bills in Egypt (from £10,000)
Any amount you can contribute will make a tremendous difference and will help relieve the financial and emotional stress of this situation. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your network. Every share, every word of support counts.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly challenging time.
With gratitude,
