Urgent Help Needed: Healing Jamarr's Heart ❤️

Hello, I'm Tracey Norman, wife to the incredible Jamarr Norman, and mother to our two young boys, James and Jarrett.

I'm reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for urgent assistance. Our family is facing a crisis that we never imagined we would encounter, and we are humbly turning to our community for support.

Jamarr has been battling a serious congenital heart condition (meaning he was born with it) that he was unaware of until recent times, that has taken a turn for the worse.

In October 2022, he began experiencing unexplained fainting spells, leading to a series of tests here in Jamaica. These tests revealed that Jamarr has intermittent heart block, causing his heart to stop multiple times a day.

Despite recommendations to seek care in the States, we opted to undergo surgery here in Jamaica, trusting the doctor we consulted with.

In March 2023, Jamarr received a permanent pacemaker. However, the pacemaker has not brought relief to his heart conditions and his symptoms persist, and have actually worsened drastically.

Just last weekend, during our boys' soccer practice, Jamarr had another frightening episode, prompting us to seek immediate medical attention.

With a desperate and heavy heart, Jamarr flew to Miami for further evaluation the very next day. The news we received was devastating.
The pacemaker should NEVER have been implanted given Jamarr's condition!

His heart is in constant atrial flutter, making exertion extremely difficult.

We just learned that he is also suffering from ventricular tachycardia, a potentially fatal condition if left untreated.

The reality is harsh—we need to act FAST. Jamarr's heart is currently operating at only 35%, and without intervention, the consequences could be catastrophic (sudden death or stroke) for him and our family.

Unfortunately, our current circumstances present significant challenges. Our Jamaican health insurance is non-transferable for US care and we will be required to self-pay for the urgent and necessary surgery Jamarr requires. World renowned care in the states is costly, but after our recent experience here in Jamaica, we must have cardiologists who can provide the best and safest care available.

We are in desperate need of financial assistance to cover Jamarr's medical expenses, estimated at $250,000, as well as travel costs, prescriptions, and post-operative cardio-thoracic care.

The uncertainty of the outcome of this will require us both to be without work and coming to the States where care is the best in the world, yet comes at an enormous expense. Our Jamaican insurance does not transfer to the United States, thus we are required to self-pay.

Your support means everything to us during this incredibly challenging time.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to healing Jamarr's heart and ensuring our family's future together.

With humble thanks to you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity. Your support means the world to me and our family.

With love and gratitude,

Tracey Norman
