Some of you might know my nephew, Troy. You might also know part of his story. For those that don’t know him, Troy hasn’t had the easiest life. Starting as a very young child with leukemia, battling all that came with that for years. Later becoming a single father struggling to raise his son on his own. He has been working two jobs to support himself and his son for some time now. He has had many health issues through the years but has always been able to work through them. Now we are hoping to get some help for him with his most recent health concern. Troy has been sick for the last couple of months. He doesn’t have benefits like sick time at his jobs. He has been forced to be out of work intermittently and cannot currently work his second job due to the issues he is having. He needs to have surgery in the coming weeks and the doctors say that he will be out of work for 4 weeks or more to recover. During this time, he will have no income to cover day to day expenses, rent and utilities. The stress of trying to find ways to continue to care for his son during this time is further aggravating his health issues. We would love to be able to help him through this trying time and afford him the ability to get the surgery done and recover without losing his home. Any help is greatly appreciated.
