Help Taafaga Tagaloa Recover from Heart Surgery
Donation protected
Dear family and friends,
We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a humble request for support for our beloved father, Taafaga Tagaloa. Our father is currently in Intensive Care in Australia after undergoing open heart surgery on 31st December, 2023.
What was supposed to be a well-deserved break for him and a celebration of his recent retirement has turned into a series of unexpected health emergencies over this past week. Thankfully, we are all here to surround him with love and support. Many of us flew in for the celebration and have stayed while he recovers.
Medical costs are quickly escalating since my father is a non-resident without insurance cover. We will need at least $150,000 AUD ($100,957 in US Dollars) to cover his medical expenses and recovery which has brought on a huge financial burden on our family. We are turning to our community for help to ease this financial strain.
For those of you who know our father, he has dedicated his life to teaching, despite his physical limitations (as a result of polio in early childhood). Through his career, he was able to put all of us through school, and provide for his immediate and extended families. For the last 35 years he has been devoted to the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in various teaching and leadership roles until the end of the 2023 school year.
Our father is a true testament to the saying “Nothing is impossible if you put your heart and mind to it”. Anyone who has been fortunate to know and work with Taafaga or “Staka” as most families and friends call him, whether in the classroom, through church, our villages and communities in Samoa can attest to his humility, resilience and God-fearing nature. He has always been there for others, and now he needs our help.
Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in covering medical bills, treatments, and other related expenses towards helping Taafaga regain his health. Your generosity will also serve as a reminder that we are not alone in this journey.
Please consider sharing our fundraiser to help us spread the word to reach as many people as possible, so our father can get the support he needs. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him and any support will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for being a part of our father’s support network during this challenging time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Tagaloa family
