Hi, my name is Sumaiya, and I’m the owner of Love for Cakes based in Canada.

Sri Lanka is my homeland, and seeing the heartbreaking destruction caused by the recent floods has deeply affected me. Many families have lost their homes, belongings, livelihoods, and even loved ones within minutes. Entire communities are struggling for food, clean water, clothing, and medical support.

I’ve created this fundraiser because I want to use my voice, my platform, and my small business to help those who are suffering. Even a little support can make a huge difference for a family trying to rebuild their life

Why This Fundraiser Matters

The floods have left thousands of people displaced and in urgent need of:

• Emergency food packs

• Clean drinking water

• Clothing and blankets

• Hygiene and medical supplies

• Temporary shelter

• Support for rebuilding damaged homes

Every donation will go directly toward providing these essential items to families who need immediate relief.

⸻

How the Funds Will Be Used

All contributions will be directed toward:

• Purchasing emergency relief supplies

• Assisting local volunteers and organizations distributing aid

• Supporting affected families directly with essentials

• Helping communities rebuild once immediate needs are met

I will also provide updates so donors can see the impact of their generosity.
