My name is Shireen, and I am heartbroken to share the passing of my dear friend, Saeed Sorat.

Five weeks ago, Saeed suffered a severe stroke that left him in a coma. Despite prayers and every effort, he peacefully passed away on August 19, 2025. His loss has left a deep void in the lives of his family, friends, and community.

Saeed was more than just a friend; he was a man who brought people together. He created the Friendship Cup, a tournament that drew participants from across the nation to compete every Labor Day weekend. He dedicated his time to helping elementary schools provide food to children, and he was always there for his family, friends, and kids. His kindness, generosity, and love for the community touched countless lives, including mine.

I am starting this fundraiser to help cover Saeed’s burial expenses and to support his wife during this incredibly difficult time. She is an immigrant now facing not only unimaginable grief but also the challenge of paying for her apartment and basic living costs without her husband by her side.
