Hi, this is Sarah, Bill Fabrey’s friend. It’s been months since I’ve done an update about Bill’s situation. A lot has happened and he needs more help. I have contributed as much as I can, but cannot do this alone. I asked him to let me use his Facebook friends list for this appeal.
In autumn of 2022, Bill (and I) both got COVID, despite our taking precautions, and he has had ongoing fatigue ever since. Although he is grateful to be alive at 81, he hasn’t been able to work on his small business as diligently as he would like, causing him to consider selling the business, to avoid disappointing his customers. His Social Security only goes so far and he has no other pension, and currently, no savings.
Bill has no other viable way to raise money, other than my asking for your help. Thankfully, our Gofundme last year saved him from disaster, kept him in housing, and kept the wolf from the door.
Most urgently, he needs new tires for his "new" 2011 Nissan Versa (which I paid for last year) and a diagnosis of the check engine light, which has been lit steadily for several months. The tires are marginal--the car passed inspection last year, but will not pass this year unless the issues are addressed.
Equally urgent is getting to a dentist for some long-delayed work. Bill has had dental issues that are ongoing and sometimes painful. He needs to be evaluated by a dentist to see what work needs to be done.
There are many other pressing goals, such as the need to pay off his electric bill which is in arrears.
Once again, I am asking if you can help. If you can, it would be greatly appreciated. Sharing also helps and we greatly appreciate anyone who shares this campaign.
I thank everyone who has contributed in the past. Amazingly, a few of you have contributed more than once. It means the world to us. I truly hope that together, we can make a difference in his life, as he has made in the lives of so many people since 1969, during his past and continuing work in the size acceptance movement.
