Urgent Help Needed for My Dog Sprinkles
Donation protected
Friends, family, sisters, and strangers, my dog Sprinkles is currently in the ICU recovering from gallbladder removal surgery.
I adopted Sprinkles in February 2020 and he has been my companion and emotional support ever since (especially during peak pandemic lockdown days when everyone was unable to see their families).
On Monday, September 30, I noticed a sudden decline in his demeanor and rushed him to the ER. They found that a mucocele ruptured his gallbladder and he had to have emergency surgery to save his life.
His diagnosis is rare and happened so suddenly that I feel like the rug has been ripped from under me.
During the Hollywood strikes, I depleted my savings and applied for grants to sustain a full-time work stoppage for months, so money has been tight. When Sprinkles was initially rushed to the hospital, close friends and family helped me cover expenses for his hospitalization, surgery, and life-saving medications—but I have exhausted those resources.
Surgery was a risk, but according to the vet, it's usually money (and not the dog's well-being) that determines whether the dog survives or not. And I've officially hit desperation mode.
Sprinkles is SO special to me and I am trying to do everything I can to avoid making a decision about whether he survives or not based on finances.
If you have any resources or means to help me reach my goal, which will help cover the cost of his continued hospitalization, I would be forever grateful.
My mental health depends on Sprinkles and he is my lifeline. Now I want to be his.
