URGENT HELP NEEDED for Mackenzie

Hello, everyone. I am reaching out to share a deeply urgent and difficult update on my daughter, Mackenzie. We recently received a critical chest and lung scan report that confirms her health crisis is escalating, and I now desperately need help to bridge a dangerous gap in her medical care.

The Medical Crisis
Mackenzie has a severe, long-term lung condition stemming from chronic aspiration (when food or liquid accidentally goes into her lungs). The scan shows three major, intersecting problems:

Airway Collapse (Atelectasis): Large areas of her lungs have collapsed due to mucus, and her breathing tubes are narrowed.

Cystic Disease & Surgical Risk: The scan revealed several smaller cysts, with the largest cyst having a blood vessel running through it. Doctors advise against surgery for now because the damage is widespread and multifocal. Operating on multiple sites is too invasive and risky.

The greatest danger is the link to her neurology:

Mackenzie suffers from drug-resistant epilepsy. The collapsed lung tissue leads to hypoxia (low oxygen to her brain). This lack of oxygen is a massive, constant trigger that makes her already uncontrollable seizures more frequent and severe, requiring constant emergency care.

The recommended treatment is a non-surgical plan of long-term antibiotics, steroids, and supplemental oxygen to stabilize her immediately.

I Am Tapped Out: Covering Critical Gaps

I have to be completely honest: I am currently her full-time caregiver and have drained my entire savings and emergency funds to keep her stable. I have been paying out of pocket for rescue medications and essential nursing hours since February because her SSI Medicaid coverage, while helping, has failed to keep up. It’s terrifying, as not having these supplies is technically considered medical neglect, and I can't and won't risk that.

Our immediate and urgent need totals $7,414.43 to secure the equipment necessary to stabilize her breathing and brain function, AND allow me to return to operating my businesses full-time.

Oxygen Concentrators ($5,900): Mackenzie urgently needs two oxygen concentrators—one for home and one for school—to manage her hypoxia and reduce her seizure risk 24/7.

Home Health Hours ($1,514.43): The remainder covers the essential home health nursing hours I have to pay for until her increased benefits are finally approved (expected in November).

You will see $2,400 to start because that is what is needed for one of her oxygen concentrators, but the total needed is $7,414.43.

Securing this funding will not only protect Mackenzie's health but will also enable me to get the coverage needed so I can return to my revenue-generating activities and restore our family's financial stability. When Mackenzie turns 18, better options will open up, but until then, I am the only one who can fill these critical gaps.
