On Wednesday, October 8th, my mother, Kathy Humble Brown, was found unresponsive, lying in standing water on her bathroom floor. She had a massive stroke and a blood clot in her brain. She was taken to the ER and was later transferred to Little Rock. She stayed in ICU for 3 days and is now on a step-down floor.

I am an only child, and I never dreamed life would change so drastically overnight. I have a great job; however, I am unable to work at this time due to my mother's delicate condition. My family lives an hour from the hospital in Little Rock and an hour and a half from Smackover, where my mother lives. It seems like I've taken on the weight of the world in the past few days, and I do not know how to navigate any of this.

Expenses are already piling up, and I have no one to help with the financial strain that I am in at the moment. Hotel rooms, gas, food—they are all expensive and have taken a HUGE toll on me already. This is extremely difficult for me to ask anyone for help financially, but I don't know what else to do. If you find it in your heart to help contribute to help lift some of the burden, I would be forever grateful, and so would Mom. If you are unable to, we completely understand. If you could just stop and say a prayer for us, it would mean just as much. We need all of the prayers we can get at this time.
