Hi my name is Theresa and my husband's name is Juan. We've come upon hard times and I don't know where else to turn. We've both having health issues and our insurance doesn't want to cover treatments and medication because we have such huge copays.

Last year Juan was diagnosed with prostate cancer which is at stage 3, insurance is going to cover the radiation and hormone therapy meds he has to be on. They recently found a spot on his lung that's at stage 4 but insurance has denied treatment for the rib. With all the medication he's on he has been having some severe side effects and has been missing a lot of work and we're behind on everything. To make matters worse the drs need copays before they can continue treatment and our copays are $7500 each. Plus all the $80 dr copays and the $120 prescriptions, we're drowning in debt and behind on all our bills. and If that wasn't enough our dog is sick and passing blood and we don't have money for a vet, I'm just using what I know to help him, and so far he's hanging on. Juan needs 3 teeth pulled before he starts radiation and insurance only pays 40% up to $1000 so they want almost $400 for that. We picked up $20,000 last year just from copays cause insurance barely paid for anything. If we can't come up with money to cover those new copays then they won't treat him and he will die. We've been together for 42 years, we were high school sweethearts. We had plans to grow old together, sitting in our rocking chairs watching our grandkids run around chasing all the animals I've acquired, lol, but now he may not even be able to get treatment. I'm heartbroken and devastated. He's always taken care of me and now it's my turn to take care of him.
