Jaret and Seamus need help after losing both of their parents in the last year. We have been doing everything we can to keep them safe and supported through this heartbreaking time. Right now, Jaret is caring for his younger brother, who has Autism and cannot be left home alone. Because someone needs to be with Seamus at all times, Jaret has not been able to work, and the two of them are now facing housing insecurity on top of the grief they are already carrying. They have also now received an eviction notice, making this situation even more urgent and leaving them at risk of losing the little stability they have left.

I have been working diligently with case workers through the Department of Developmental Disabilities to have Seamus placed in a supportive home. I have reached out to multiple organizations and churches for rent assistance, but those resources have run out. After using up her own savings to help Jaret and Seamus, I am now asking for support from others. Donations will help cover the urgent shortage of rent for October and November and immediate expenses related to the eviction notice while the family works to secure safe placement for Seamus. Once Seamus has a home, Jaret will live with me, so I can help him earn his GED, get his driver’s license, and find employment so he can begin building a stable future.
