Urgent Help Needed for Homeless Mother & Son Escaping Abuse

My son and I were made homeless by my abuser, [redacted] following extensive financial abuse and sexual abuse, and him spreading a campaign of lies about me. Who I thought was a saving grace turned out to be a serial abuser, who encouraged me to give up my home and job, only to use this power to prey on me sexually and throw me out on the streets when I didn’t comply with his forced sexual demands. He had me give up my primary residence and job, insisting on “buying” me out of my job so I would be a stay at home mom to my son, who he acted as a father towards, and his two children. As time went on it became clear that he was a compulsive liar and suffering from serious mental health issues including delusions and mania, however I ignored it as long as I could due to my son’s attachment to him and wanting to believe his promises of security and safety. I spent my savings furnishing our shared apartment, I did not think me and my son would be cast out on the street and made homeless five days before his 5th birthday.

I was widowed in 2021 while residing in Massachusetts and moved to Philadelphia following the loss of my husband to be near my father, who tragically also passed away a few months ago. I do not have any local family support and due to [redacted] isolating me, housing me, and convincing me to financially contribute to “our” household only to be made homeless following sexual violence, I am struggling to figure out how to recover and prevent my son and me from becoming homeless. Shelters in the local area are all full and as a service dog owner our options are already more limited. I am able bodied and have worked since I was 18, I just need some temporary assistance to escape my abuser and relocate somewhere I have more support. The majority of my family and friends are in California, where I was born. We have housing secured in the form of a hotel room until Monday 10/14, after that we will be on the street. The police have not been able to do much to help in regards to us being cast out of our previous residence due to my abuser lying to them and playing the system (convincing me to move in and give up my job, but not putting me on the lease and lying to police about assets, the situation creating a he said/she said), and even if we were legally given the right to stay I can not be around someone sexually violent nor can I allow my son anywhere near him.

Anything you can contribute would be deeply appreciated. [redacted] had most of my belongings from our residence dumped on the street, I was able to recover clothes for my son, but we have very little food and I had to leave the majority of my clothes and belongings. I have a vehicle but it needs repair and is under threat of being towed currently. I know my son and I will make it through this, and even if you can’t contribute personally please share if you can.
