Urgent Help Needed for Guy Dillman in his Cancer Battle
Donation protected
My name is Danielle Pechette-Graham and I started this GoFundMe page for my brother, Guy Dillman, age 65. Just before the summer my brother Guy was diagnosed with Stage 4 bone cancer and lung cancer. A few months before that devastating diagnosis he went to start collecting his Social Security since he was having trouble walking (due to the cancer he did not yet know he had) and couldn't work. When he did he was told he was already receiving his SS but he wasn't. It turns out someone stole his identity and had been collecting his SS. In June, our brother, James flew to Las Vegas to see how he could help and drove him to the Social Security office where they started an investigation. They told him it would take a month or two and he would receive all the money the other person had collected and begin getting his monthly payments. In September, he began receiving his monthly payment but not the lump sum because the investigation was still ongoing. This allowed him to start paying the back rent he owed for the trailer park where he kept his home and truck. Then the doctors told him that his chemotherapy treatments were working and his tumors were shrinking. Things seemed to be looking up and we were all thrilled. He was paying back the rent he owed. His pain was subsiding and he was walking better. Then just a few weeks ago everything he needed to survive was stopped. His social security, his food stamps but more distressing his Medicare. When he called he was told it was because the investigation had not been completed yet. Now, he is no longer able to get his chemo treatments because he no longer has insurance, he can't afford food, and the management for the trailer park he is at told him they were going to take his trailer and truck to pay the rent he still owes. We have helped as much as we can and this is our last resort. I've contacted his local Senator and they are looking into seeing how they can help him but that will take time. Time he doesn't have. He has missed his last several chemo treatments and he is in so much pain and is afraid. We are hoping to raise enough money to pay his back rent and to get him started on his chemotherapy again while we wait for this to be resolved. If you find it in your heart to help my brother we would be so very grateful.
