Family homeless in a week.

January 20- we are trying to raise money to fix our roof and get a dumpster to throw everything out. All our clothes, rugs, couches, and beds are covered in mold. Insurance is fighting us on everything so Travis is doing this his self so our girls have a roof over their heads.

January 11 update after Travis spent a week in the hospital (came home Christmas Eve) with nuro virus and a bronchial issue his heart was only pumping at 30%. Since being discharged he learned he was fired from his job for being in the hospital for a week before Christmas.

december 23 update: this year has been horrible for us. no help from insurance they have closed the claim and have not answered my public adjusters email or my own. Our home is now completely destroyed from being neglected from may. We don’t have money to fix the roof to at least stay in the house. Travis has been hospitalized the last week between two different hospitals. 5 days in valley and now Hackensack due to valleys neglect. this year has been the worst and the only two people who matter the most are the two little girls who won’t have a normal Christmas and have been forced to live in a hotel 45 mins away from their school and day care. We are struggling financially and can’t afford to keep going much longer

On may 23 2024 our house was hit by a tornado even though they called it straight line winds at over 120 mph. Our home was flooded 3 feet downstairs and 5 inches in our kitchen and dining room. A tree was through our roof. It’s now august 10, our home still has no electric, no repairs started. My wife, 2 small children, 3 dogs and 2 cats have been forced to a hotel since. Our insurance company has barely answered our calls or texts. They have switched our adjuster 6 times and each time we finally get ahold of a new person we are told they need to review documents and will be in contact. We have a public adjuster and through them we were able to have assistance through TPS housing. But now we received word without our insurance company confirming TPS housing can not carry the bill anymore and as of the 14th we have no where to go. Our house has since become mold infested. Everything in it needs to be thrown away. Our clothes, furniture, bedding, toys but most of all our memories. We have exhausted all our finances, my wife works part time and we are down to 1 car. Contractors said until insurance gives the ok to start it will still take 4-6 months to fix our home. At this point we can’t even start over somewhere. I don’t want to ask for help but we have no choice.
